Rebuilding Porsche Engines

& Installing Factory Rebuilt Motors

Modderman Service has been rebuilding Porsche engines and installing factory rebuilds since 1971. “Good mechanics can rebuild anything,” says David. “But it’s good to have the proper factory tools which we possess.

Plus we’ve got the expertise and know all the valuable tricks from years of hands-on experience.” So what’s the approach David and his technicians take when replacing or rebuilding an engine?

Because every Porsche engine repair job is different, it may depend on the model and year and how important the matching serial numbers are for each particular vehicle — the dates of specific serial numbers is what’s important, not the year. David says, “If it’s an earlier Porsche that requires original numbers and an original engine, I recommend rebuilding the engine.”

For newer Porsches, rebuilding an engine is more difficult, though, it can be done. Parts are readily available for the newer vehicles. But the easiest method clients is to buy a factory rebuilt Porsche engine and have it installed by Modderman Service. Questions? Call David: (650) 967-3213
